We also retail electricity to more than 365,000homes, businesses and farms across New Zealand through our Meridian and Powershop brands.Sitting within the Waitaki Trades team, you’ll be working across Meridian’s local Hydro generation stations. This team focuses on executing scheduled maintenance works and assisting with projects on site to ensure the continued reliability of our hydro generation assets. As Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for responding to faults and emergences and undertaking maintenance projects when required.You’ll be the front line of our maintenance delivery and fault response capability, repairing, maintaining, and using your skills to ensure all work is undertaken safely, accurately and on time. This is an on-site position and isprimarily based at our Ōhau sites, located near Twizel, along with some work at other sites in the mid Waitaki. There may be the requirement of short periods of travel around the region to suit the operational needs of the business&participation in our on-call roster. Trade or Advanced Trade Cert in Mechanical Trades Experience in heavy rotating plant maintenance Experience in fault finding control systems Understanding of maintenance management systems + sound computer literacy skills Current Driver’s License Ability to workwithin a team or individuallyDemonstrated commitment to Health&Safety practices Experience in Hydro generation is a bonus but not essential!
