This role involves working within a design engineering team on various railroad and transit projects, requiring expertise in the rail industry and a desire to develop further. VHB offers comprehensive transit planning, engineering, and operations analysis, focusing on real-world implementation to improve mobility and community connectivity.Responsibilities Assist in civil design for rail projects, including stations, track structures, drainage, alignment, grade crossings, and transit facilities Manage project schedules and budgets Develop project deliverables and support project development, including conceptual designs and feasibility studiesPerform inspections and assessments of rail infrastructure Develop specifications, estimates, and schedules Prepare technical reports and assist in bid document development Provide construction support and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Skills and Attributes Strong understanding of transit and rail infrastructure and system integrationExperience in multiple transit and rail design disciplines Excellent communication and analytical skills Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD Qualifications Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred 5-8 years of relevant experience, especially in transit&rail PE license required Experience with CTDOT projects and MicroStation is a plus We are VHB!
