Facilities Maintenance Role, Auckland

About the Role We're seeking a hands-on and reliable Facilities Maintenance Handyman with skills in general repairs, carpentry, and grounds upkeep to join our team at Hobsonville Schools. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to maintain a safe and well-functioning learning environment for students and staff.Based primarily at Hobsonville Point Secondary School, with flexibility to support nearby sites, you'll work Monday to Friday in 8-hour shifts between 7:00am and 5:30pm, reporting directly to the on-site Facilities Coordinator. This physically active role involves diverse daily tasks, including keeping facilities clean, safe, and in excellent condition.Key Responsibilities: Complete work requests efficiently within deadlines. Perform general repairs, basic carpentry, and grounds maintenance. Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of facilities. Build and sustain relationships with contractors, school staff, and colleagues. Conduct regular inspections of the facilities.Log work orders and report using basic computer skills. Minimize disruption to school operations. What We're Looking For: Physically fit, adaptable, and flexible. Experience in garden/grounds maintenance is preferred. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude. Clear criminal conviction history; police vetting required.Good communication skills and basic computer literacy. Ability to work independently and in a team. Reliable, honest, and responsible. Full, clean NZ Driver's Licence. Legal right to work in New Zealand.
