Description
Pre-Award * Oversees preparation and submission of all new, competing, and non-competing sponsored research proposals for the division, ensuring all required documentation and criteria are met for successful submission. Collaborates with lab staff and Principal Investigators to identify all potential costs associated with proposals.* Acts as liaison to the Partners central office and other sponsoring agencies regarding fiscal and administrative concerns. * Manages "JIT" submissions to sponsors upon request, ensuring submitted information is accurate and current. Maintains records of all submission materials in the network drive for future reference.Post-Award/Financial * Ensures fiscal compliance of the division on all sponsored projects, including approving expenditures, assigning cost centers, monitoring budgets, and investigating potential issues with proposed solutions. Provides cost-saving recommendations and rebudgeting based on a thorough understanding of study requirements and funding agency regulations.* Maintains a financial management system for accurate, detailed, and real-time reporting of financial status and staffing distributions across grants and funds. * Acts as liaison to Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, and other hospital departments. Addresses research study needs and collaborates with outside vendors for necessary products and services.* Prepares monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports on all funds, including current expenditures, future expense projections, and budget variances. Research Compliance * Serves as the primary resource for PIs regarding updates and changes in regulations and policies of grantor agencies. * Ensures compliance with all hospital and government regulations for research involving human and animal subjects.* Interacts extensively with Research Administration to ensure adherence to hospital, NIH, and funding agency policies. * Reviews and approves cost transfers with detailed explanations, ensuring compliance with sponsor and institutional policies. * Assists in reviewing semi-annual effort reports for the division, ensuring accuracy, timely routing, and submission to the Partners central office.Education Bachelor's Degree in a related field required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Research administration experience of 3-5 years required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, accounting, and other computer applications.- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. - Strong organization and coordination skills. - Ability to work accurately with large financial data sets. - Good knowledge of research agency, sponsor, and organization funding guidelines and policies. - Negotiation skills.- Ability to work independently. - Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
