Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Opportunity to work on several occupational regulation schemes Work as part of a growing team with new leadership roles Interesting and varied case load 1 x permanent position based in Auckland Salary range: $85,537-$101,911 Occupational Regulation is a cross-sector team responsible for several different occupational licensing and registration schemes, including Immigration Advisers, Electrical Workers, Licensed Building Practitioners, Motor Vehicle Traders, Auctioneers, and Pool Inspectors. Over time, other schemes may be added or removed from Occupational Regulation.As an Investigator reporting to the Manager Investigations, you will utilize your investigation skills across areas regulated by the Occupational Regulation Team. You will work in a fast-paced, diverse environment, with a passion for protecting the public of NZ and achieving lawful outcomes. A commitment to continuous improvement is essential.You will investigate complaints against licensed practitioners to determine disciplinary breaches, investigate unlicensed matters, and pursue prosecutions where criminal offences have occurred. Skills and Experience Required Understanding of occupational regulation enforcement environment Curious, questioning approach, with strong attention to detailKnowledge of complaint processes and investigative techniques (preferred) Ability to write legal reports and interpret legislation Assess large volumes of information and make robust recommendations Knowledge of tribunals, regulatory boards, and Court processes Excellent time management skills, ability to perform under pressure, set priorities, and meet deadlines in changing conditionsLegal right to live and work in New Zealand MBIE aims to create a resilient, high-performing economy that improves quality of life for all New Zealanders by supporting productive, competitive businesses, enabling participation in the economy, and making quality housing affordable.
