About The Company This large farming business has grown over the years and is now one of the larger businesses of its size in New Zealand, with its base in Auckland. It operates multiple farms, mainly on the North Island, and is known for quality people and operations. The head office boasts a high-quality finance team, reporting directly to HO Finance (ex Big4).About The Role The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations for the farms and land-owning companies, including reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and budgeting. The role involves project work, especially during the short month-end processes. Key Responsibilities Banking&GL Management: Daily reconciliations, cash flow, journal entries, ledger maintenance. Month-End Close&Reporting: Lead month-end processes, deliver management accounts. Fixed Assets&Farm Development: Manage asset ledgers, capital projects, reconciliations. Statutory Reporting: Prepare financial statements under NZGAAP, half-year reports. Taxation: Handle GST, FBT, income tax, liaise with advisors. Budgets&Forecasts: Build annual budgets, assist in forecasting and system updates. Projects: Lead process improvements and finance projects. Candidate Profile You should be a great communicator, take ownership, and have: CA/CPA/ACCA qualification with a strong financial management background. Experience in CA firms and commercial sectors preferred.Excellent communication skills. Interest in the sector. Availability to work 5 days a week in their CBD offices.
