Commercial Lawyer, Auckland

If you’re looking for an interesting, challenging and rewarding opportunity in the tech, media and IP space, this Senior Commercial Lawyer role could be just the ticket. The work will generally be commercial, with a focus on a wide range of technology, media, innovation and telecommunications issues and projects for a range of clients from startups through to global corporates and government agencies. Our commercial practice offers the opportunity to work on emerging technologies, tech procurement and implementation, tech licensing and services, broadcast and communications arrangements, data privacy, biometrics, AI, cyber-security, fintech, and consumer law advice. You will also be involved in commercial/corporate deals to create, transfer and exploit technologies and IP, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and licensing.The nature of our work means we are often advising our clients on new and emerging issues which means you will be challenged with, and learn from, issues that you may not have encountered before. About you You will have a minimum of 7 years’ commercial experience in a high performing private practice or in-house team with a focus on a mix of technology, media, telecommunications, commercialisation of innovation, data security, data privacy.Your stakeholder management, intellectual curiosity and rigour, and commercial acumen will make you a highly effective and pragmatic client partner. You will expect to be engaged in team leadership, and partners will quickly come to trust your insights on both client and people matters.
