Full-Time | Fixed Term (Immediate Start– July 2026) Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Location: SPCA National Office, Hobsonville, Auckland Make a Difference Through Education SPCA’s Education Team is on the lookout for a passionate and innovative primary school teacher who’s excited about inspiring the next generation andadvancing animal welfare across Aotearoa.In this unique and varied role, you'll help coordinate and support SPCA’s national education initiatives. This person will be passionate about making a difference to the lives of humans and animals and eager to be a member of a team that conceptualises and champions the development of curriculum aligned animal welfare teaching and learning resources for New Zealand ECE centres, primary and intermediate schools.Our ideal Candidate will have:• A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Teaching or equivalent tertiary qualification. • In-depth understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum. • Thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of teaching and learning in New Zealand classrooms. • An understanding of animal welfare.• Knowledge and experience of Tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, and Te Ao Māori (not essential, but it would be an advantage). • Knowledge and understanding of te Reo Māori (not essential, but it would be an advantage). • Ability to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.• Ability to work independently and take initiative when required. • Creativity and innovation. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Competence in the use of digital technology as a teaching and learning tool.
