To support our commitment to the Vision 20:20 initiative, which aims to increase the number of Māori and Pacific health professionals through the Māori and Pacific Admission Scheme (MAPAS), the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences is seeking to recruit an inspiring individual to support our Māori and Pacific students through their cultural and educational journey as the Student Support Advisor.The key responsibilities of this role include: Coordinating academic and pastoral support for Māori and Pacific students across foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes. Managing the administration, support, and admission processes for these students. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:An in-depth understanding of Māori and Pacific cultures and strong connections to these communities. Ability to provide support, advice, and mentorship to students throughout their academic journey. Understanding of the challenges Māori and Pacific students face in higher education. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Strong administrative and communication skills. Proven ability to build effective relationships. Experience in event coordination and management. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
