Te Kowhiringa | The Opportunity On a day-to-day basis, you will work in a local school setting, managing a caseload of families, providing early intervention and preventive social work services to vulnerable children, teens, and their whanau. This includes individual and group work, using our strengths-based, multi-systemic approach to encourage positive and lasting change.Ngā pūkenga kei a koe | Your Skills and Experience To succeed as a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS), you will have a professional, warm, and engaging nature; and ideally: A tertiary degree majoring in or specialised in Social Work Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board A full, clean NZ driver’s license and a reliable vehicleExperience working as a Social Worker Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, local schools, and colleagues Excellent ability to maintain professional boundaries, meet KPIs, and adhere to practice requirementsConfident working knowledge of Tikanga Māori; and a commitment to working with Tangata Whenua Experience working with children in a school setting would be a distinct advantage Diversity&Inclusion at PSN We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where you can look forward to coming to work, feeling included and valued.
