Role Overview We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer specializing in TMT/IT law with 7 or more years of legal experience to join our TMT team based in Auckland, New Zealand.This team advises a broad spectrum of clients across New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region on complex matters and transactions. Led by partners Allan Yeoman and Keri Johansson, our team is known for practical, commercially savvy legal advice and longstanding client relationships. You will work alongside leading experts in the field.Team Focus Our TMT team acts for clients in the private and public sectors, tech start-ups, private equity and venture capital firms, media entities, and healthtech agencies. Responsibilities include advising on projects related to technology procurement, licensing, privacy, cyber security, gaming, media, entertainment, marketing, and content production. We collaborate with the corporate M&A team on tech and telco transactions, providing specialized support. Ideal Candidate 7+ years' legal experience in TMT, gained in a law firm or in-house Proven track record across the full spectrum of TMT matters Experience advising on privacy, data protection, and cyber issues Skilled in contract drafting and negotiationGood knowledge of copyright law, the Fair Trading Act, and relevant regulations Collaborative team player, internally and externally Applicants from overseas must be admitted as a Solicitor in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, or a similar jurisdiction, and willing to relocate.
