About the role - Mō te tūrangaAs a Finance Business Partner, you will have full oversight of the P&L and Balance Sheet for the business unit, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability, and timely delivery of results. You will take ownership of budgets and forecasts, conduct commercial analysis on cost initiatives, profitability analysis, and create business cases for upcoming projects. You will be the centre of information, enabling informed decision-making and delivering valuable commercial advice and insights to drive the business forward.Key responsibilities include: Commercial Management: Partner with Area Managers and BU managers in the preparation of financial reports. Actively influence and partner with stakeholders, building key relationships. Drive cost awareness and a culture of continuous improvement. Provide insights into weekly and monthly financial results.Financial modelling of budget, forecasts, business cases, and competitor/market/industry analysis. Develop and benchmark KPIs for revenue growth and profit margin improvement. Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures. Manage month-end close, statutory reporting, local tax requirements, and cash flow.Monitor balance sheet and ensure appropriate reporting around major operating and capital expenditure projects. General Management: Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior management. Effectively transfer knowledge to broader finance teams. What will you bring? -Ōu Pūkenga? We are looking for a driven individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.Additionally, you will bring: Prior experience in the Transport&Logistics industry is highly desirable. 5+ years of experience in an accounting-related role. CA/CPA qualification or working towards it. Solid experience in management accounting, reporting, budgets, and forecasts. Proven ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Critical soft skills in stakeholder influence and effective communication. Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles. Demonstrable track record of change management. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills.
