Te | The Opportunity Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for providing sustainability leadership across our suite of Auckland Transport Maintenance contracts. Your responsibilities will include: Targeting zero waste following the waste hierarchy through waste minimisation, circular economy solutions, and recycling/re-use maximisationReducing contribution to greenhouse gas emissions from operations and materials Providing energy savings through reduction of greenhouse gas emissions Reducing water consumption during maintenance activities Improving livelihoods of people from targeted groups through employment, training, and wage improvementsIncreasing access for diverse suppliers, including Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses Providing technical advice to projects and long-term maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with Federal / State approvals and licences Reviewing environmental monitoring programs and results Undertaking site travel and support as requiredDeveloping and maintaining Environmental Management Plans and Recycled First Plan initiatives Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills Tertiary Qualifications (Degree) in Environmental Science/Engineering/Energy/Management, Sustainability, or similar Minimum 2-3 years of environmental management experience; experience in road construction and/or maintenance environment is highly regardedProficiency in MS Excel and other data analysis tools Ability to learn new software applications quickly Current Driver's licence Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of an organisation High attention to detail and analytical skills Effective planning, time management, and organisational skillsKo wai mātou | Our Organisation Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
