Team Leader RN - Operating Theatres, Auckland

Support our theatre leadership team as a Team Leader in the Operating theatres at Ascot Hospital in Greenlane Auckland. This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position working rostered shifts Mon-Fri, with some on-call and weekend lists. The role: This is a great opportunity for a Perioperative RN wanting to take that first step into a leadership position . It's a balance between people management and operational leadership where you will function as the clinical expert and the day-to-day "go-to" person. Your responsibilities will include resourcing and procurement of both staff and equipment for our 12 operating theatres at Ascot. You will report directly to one of our Charge Nurse Managers, who in turn reports to the Theatre Manager, so there's lots of support for you in this role.To succeed you'll need: Strong experience as a theatre RN scrubbing for a variety of surgical cases - e.g. General, Ortho, ENT, Plastics, Gynae, Neuro, within a NZ hospital (or equivalent) Some experience supervising services and/or people Strong coordination and delegation skills - you think on your feet and make effective decisionsA positive attitude and professional maturity Experience building positive relationships with all members of the Operating Rooms including Surgeons and Anaesthetists The benefits: You will enjoy a supportive working environment, autonomy of practice, very competitive pay rates, free car parking, access to our internal leadership development programme, EAP, and a Christmas close-down that allows you to enjoy the festive season with your friends and family, and so much more.About us: We're part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres across 3 sites.
