This is an opportunity to work in a high-paced, cutting-edge sawmill within a great team.This opportunity is based at our Kawerau Mill, where you’ll be reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, and is available for immediate start. Normal hours are 10-hour days Tuesday – Friday, with 1 rostered weekend per month. Key responsibilities: Take ownership of your own area, performing preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on plant equipment and machineryIdentifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues Planning and executing corrective maintenance, to maintain plant reliability and minimize downtime Completing work to a high standard utilizing best practice Work closely with the production teams to improve equipment reliability and drive optimizationMaintain and update records including bills of materials, PM’s, manuals, drawings, and SAP records Ensure all work complies with Health&Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards Quality assurance of any work carried out by external contractors What you bring to the role: Demonstrated experience in fitting and welding Strong mechanical aptitude with fault finding and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawingsHave a strong Health&Safety focus Ability to work well in a team Machining experience (beneficial) SAP experience (beneficial) In return we offer: Regular day shift hours, 10-hour days Tuesday– Friday, with 1 rostered weekend per month Corporate medical care plan through Southern Cross Company superannuation including discounted life insurance and income protection with CHH contributionsRetail benefits through employee benefits scheme Boost Rewards Staff buying privileges at Carters On-going support and training opportunities for personal development An awesome supportive team culture with an opportunity to develop lifelong friendships 20-minute drive from Whakatane, 40-minutes from Rotorua, and approx. one hour from TaurangaAbout Us: Carter Holt Harvey has been in operation for over 150 years manufacturing a full range of wood-based building products from our three mills in NZ.
