The RoleAs Technical Director– Protection Systems Design , you’ll lead and contribute to multidisciplinary projects critical to New Zealand’s energy infrastructure. This role allows you to shape innovative solutions while growing our design team and influencing Edison’s strategic direction. Key Responsibilities:Lead protection design projects, focusing on relay coordination, SCADA integration, and fault analysis. Develop innovative solutions for integrating renewable energy sources into the grid. Mentor and guide engineers, growing their expertise and supporting their career development. Influence Edison’s design processes and strategies, driving technical excellence and efficiency.Represent Edison at industry forums, maintaining and enhancing our reputation as a trusted leader. About You You’re a seasoned leader in protection systems design, eager to make a meaningful impact on team growth, design processes, and New Zealand’s energy future. Qualifications&Experience: 15+ years in protection design for high voltage substations and transmission networks. Expertise in relay protection schemes, SCADA integration, and fault studies. Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and influencing team strategy and processes. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPENG) or equivalent certification.Ready to Move?
