Our client, a leading law firm with a strong presence in the Auckland legal market, is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to support their Litigation team, specifically within Employment Law. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with well-respected partners and lawyers in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.About the role: This permanent, full-time role sits within the litigation team and provides key support to two senior Partners, along with a wider team. The role is varied and will suit someone who enjoys ownership of their work, can manage multiple priorities, and thrives in a professional services setting.A significant aspect of this position involves monthly billing, so experience in this area is essential. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and finalising legal documentation including correspondence, contracts, and court documents. File management: opening/closing files, managing AML compliance, and preparing engagement letters.Formatting legal documents and presentations to a high standard using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Typing, including digital dictation and copy typing. Managing Partners’ diaries, travel bookings, meeting arrangements, and other PA-level duties. Drafting client correspondence and internal communication.Coordinating and executing monthly billing, including generating invoices and managing billing deadlines. Maintaining strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients. What we’re looking for: To thrive in this role, you will need to be a proactive and organised professional who can hit the ground running. You will bring:Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a large law firm or employment/litigation environment. Strong background in billing and accounts administration. Fast and accurate typing skills (digital dictation experience preferred). High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail. The ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. A team-oriented attitude and a willingness to support where needed across the wider firm.
