Mechanical Fitter (PCC, Auckland)

Pacific Coilcoaters (aka ColorCote) is the market leader of pre-painted steel and metal products in New Zealand. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company. We are on the lookout for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Penrose, Auckland . Working Monday through to Friday with on-call duties on a weekly rotating roster . This is for an afternoon shift 2pm-10:30pm (40hrs per week) . The mechanical fitter is responsible for assembling machine parts and installing, maintaining, and repairing plant and equipment.For this role you must have: A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with an ability to read schematic drawings. 5+ years’ experience in heavy industrial maintenance environments, in a production environment at a relatively influential operational level, or within related plant environments like cement, steel, plastics, dairy, pulp, and paper.Ability to prioritise work and factor commercial and health&safety requirements into maintenance plans. Assess and reduce hazards in the workplace and complete hazard forms as required. Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently collaborate, cooperate, and share information around faults, issues, and actions required with key plant stakeholders.Take active responsibility and lead by example in Health&Safety guidelines and procedures. An ability to work autonomously and independently. Ability to undertake limited electrical work will be an advantage. You will have a NZ recognised mechanical trade certificate and manufacturing plant experience, a clean driver’s licence, and be able to either obtain or retain a fork lift “F” endorsement.What we offer: Competitive hourly rate ($40/hr - $45/hr).
