We believe we will achieve this through increasing the productivity of organisations, through the intelligent use of our products, services, and insights day in and day out.Job Description As a Systems Administrator at DDS IT, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimising, and supporting hardware, software, and cloud platforms across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that cloud resources are available, secure, and optimised to meet business needs while adhering to best practices and compliance requirements.A little bit about the role Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of IT services. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Ensure timely system updates, patches, and backups.Maintain, optimise, and support cloud-based infrastructure and platform services (IaaS, PaaS). Provide comprehensive support for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings. Ensure security, compliance, and performance across cloud environments. Implement and maintain security best practices, including firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection.Monitor security logs and respond to potential threats or breaches. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Manage data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery plans. Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi. Support cloud-based services and hybrid IT environments.Work with vendors and third-party providers for hardware and software solutions. Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support to internal teams and end users. Collaborate with IT teams to enhance system efficiency and user experience. Assist in IT projects, system migrations, and deployments. Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical issues.Work closely with the Cloud&Infrastructure team to resolve incidents and requests in a timely manner. Ensure proper escalation and documentation of incidents, problems, and changes. Desired Skills and Experience A bit about you You have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).You possess proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Cloud Engineer, or similar role. You have strong knowledge of Windows/Linux/Mac operating systems. You have experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). You are familiar with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).You have an understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.). You possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. You have knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices. You have excellent communication and documentation skills. Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python) is desirable.Knowledge of ITIL best practices and service management tools is a plus.
