Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 28/04/2025, End Date: 12/12/2025 (Staff Movement) Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacher Science Horizon School, a state-integrated Y1-13 area school nestled in the beautiful Mahurangi Peninsula, is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle Years Teacher (Y7-8) to join our vibrant team. We are committed to creating an environment where students grow infaith, hope, and love, while striving for academic excellence.About the role: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons to Y7 and 8 students. The role offers the opportunity to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love of learning, particularly through hands-on and inquiry-based approaches. As part of the team, you will be involved in student mentoring, curriculum delivery, and assessment.Start date by negotiation. The successful candidate: The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons to Y7 and 8 students as part of a supportive team. A strength in delivering the Science curriculum would be preferable, or alternatively, a Primary teacher who would enjoy the opportunity to teach this age group would be an ideal fit.We are looking for someone who: Is a qualified, NZ registered teacher with experience and passion for teaching Middle Years (Y7-8) students. Is excited about helping young learners develop their academic skills while nurturing their emotional and social growth. Is committed to the values of Christian education and can create a supportive, faith-based learning environment for students.Has strong classroom management skills and can effectively engage students in dynamic, student-centered learning experiences.
