National Air Freight Manager- Operations, Auckland

Kuehne+Nagel New Zealand are looking for an experienced National Air Freight Manager-Operations to join the team based at our Auckland Air Logistics Hub. Reporting to the General Manager Air Logistics, this role will be responsible for the delivery of our Air Logistics operations strategy across New Zealand.Your Role As the National Air Freight Manager-Operations, you will be accountable for leading a dynamic team to deliver operational excellence and achieve the ultimate goal of delivering exceptional customer service excellence to our Air Logistics customers. In addition, you will work alongside other senior Air Logistics leaders to drive the best possible outcomes for KN NZ.Your Responsibilities Deliver operational excellence through high quality shipment management while continuously optimising the cost of production. Enhance operational capabilities and deliver increased profitability. Provide leadership and direction to the operational care organisation including driving collaboration between Customer Care, Revenue Care, Sales and Operations Optimisation to deliver a great customer experience.Support the development of pricing strategies (liaise on pricing / RFQ preparation). Actively manage interfaces and information / knowledge exchange between KN teams. Optimise proceedings to ensure development of Air Logistics operational KPIs. Ensure the highest levels of productivity within the organisation.Support Air Logistics procurement and carrier relationship management. Ensure a high-level quality of export/import services including KN products, KN HealthCare and KN EngineChain. Closely cooperate with Sales on strategic accounts as needed. Closely cooperate with Customer Care to gain specialised customer specific knowledge and to receive first-hand feedback about operational execution.Support to develop new / existing customer targets. Ensure that operations are managed within the respective regulatory requirements associated with the functions of their teams and in alignment with industry and national regimes. Your Skills and Experiences A minimum of five years freight forwarding experience– with in depth exposure to and expertise in Air Logistics Operations.Previous experience leading and coaching staff is highly advantageous, however the desire and passion to lead people is essential. Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously. Commitment to finding more efficient or cost-effective ways of doing things. Customer focused and commercially astute with a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks, effective time management and a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Impeccable interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate positively and constructively with multiple stakeholders.Ability to think outside the square, solve problems and remain calm under pressure.
