Our clients and partners are leading electricity market companies in NZ.We are seeking a solution-focused Electrical Engineer as we ramp up our project construction rate who will play a key role in delivering our Build, Own, Operate fleet of solar farm projects. We are a small, family-friendly team based in Auckland. The role With a background as an Electrical Engineer, you will be required to prepare detailed designs for greenfield solar farm projects and then assist the project delivery team through the construction stage of the project. Your technical background will allow you to create engineering solutions to solve project challenges. The broad scope of the project development environment means you will thrive from a highly dynamic work environment and enjoy working with stakeholders from a range of backgrounds. You will contribute directly to getting solar farm projects built.Responsibilities: Preparation of designs, layouts and specifications for equipment including solar arrays and supporting LV/HV equipment such as substations and cabling Preparation of project documentation relating to solar farm development and construction including technical reports and feasibility reportsEngaging with the project delivery team to assist with project construction, including contractors, equipment suppliers, network companies, other internal and external stakeholders Working knowledge of relevant AS/NZS Standards for the design and supply of electrical equipment required for solar farm constructionPrior experience in solar farm design will be highly regarded Computer literacy skills sufficient to operate common word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD, and modelling software Requirements An Electrical Engineering Degree, Diploma/Advanced Diploma 5 years+ of experience working in NZ’s electrical sectorConstruction and project delivery experience Understanding of the NZ electricity network and electricity marketplace Detailed design experience on electrical network or generation projects Solid knowledge and understanding of local standards and other electrical technical design standards Knowledge and skills in the use of the required computer systems and applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organisational and work ethic skills Lightyears Solar are a dynamic team working in an industry in its infancy in NZ.
