Transport and Sales Specialist, Auckland

Classification: Manufacturing&operations ABOUT THE ROLE The Transport and Sales Specialist looks after all freight movements within Egmont Industrial, including orders heading to customers and our incoming stock. You’ll work with the rest of our tight-knit team to provide great service to our customers. Based in our Egmont Village Yard, your day will have variety - from planning all freight movements, liaising with transport companies, to dealing with walk-in customers. You’ll work closely with our Egmont Senior Yard Coordinator and Auckland Yard Coordinator to ensure orders are dispatched and delivered on time. You’ll also give the Egmont Village Yard the Sales Orders each morning and provide guidance on each job's lead time, based on the freight you have organised.Ideally, you’ll have strong experience organising freight or dispatching trucks. If you haven’t worked with steel before, we are happy to train you if you have a keen interest to learn and get stuck in. In between organising freight, you’ll help out the rest of the team by answering the phone, quotingcustomers, doing up sales and sorting purchase orders.This is a busy role and no two days are the same. Between customer needs changing and transport companies schedules, the goal posts can change and you’ll need to roll with the punches. This is a full-time, customer-facing role, with flexibility to attend family&important appointments when needed. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm, and we normally knock off an hour early on Fridays. We are happy to consider flexible hours for an experienced candidate and great team fit.
