Community Support Worker - Choice In Community Living - Auckland Part Time: 15 hours Salary: $23.38 - $29.10 per hour Location: Patumahoe, South of Auckland We have more than 300 worksites and support options across the whole Auckland region from Warkworth to Waiuku. In Choices in Community Living, we provide services for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities within their own homes and out into their community. We provide 1:1 support which consists of a range of hours between 6am to 9pm Monday to Sunday.Responsibilities: Assist with daily activities such as community participation, socializing, work or education, personal cares, and domestic chores. Report and manage administrative responsibilities. Skills&Experience: Empathy for the challenges of building an ordinary life while living with a disability. Energy to keep up with someone who likes to be active. Ability to remain calm in all situations. Resilience to help people maintain boundaries for safety. Good at explaining and negotiating. Effective and supportive communication with family, colleagues, and the person you support.Willingness to provide support with personal cares and daily living skills. The ideal candidate will have: An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification - we can support you to achieve this while you work. Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health issues, or challenging behaviors is desirable but not necessary.Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people. A full New Zealand driver's licence. Able to pass a NZ police check. Ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email.
