Cardiac Imaging Research Assistant Position This position starts on June 1, 2025. The Research Assistant (RA), working under the supervision of the study Principal Investigator, provides assistance for cardiac imaging research studies, including echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, Positron Emission Tomography, and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography. The RA will work in clinical areas of BWH and must possess strong organizational skills, professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently. Training will be provided initially and throughout the project.The RA may be responsible for activities such as recruiting and evaluating potential participants for clinical trials, collecting, entering, and organizing patient data, scheduling study visits, submitting paperwork for subject payments, contacting patients for follow-up, maintaining imaging and research data, and assisting the PI with IRB submissions.Molecular imaging and investigational new drug therapy studies will also be included. The RA may need to travel locally to Boston-area medical institutions including Boston University, Tufts Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital. Key Responsibilities: The RA will coordinate a multicenter study (6+ sites) and may occasionally travel to these sites ( Assist the PI in coordinating research efforts, recruiting and evaluating potential study patients, conducting telephone interviews, and scheduling visits and screenings.Support all aspects of clinical trials, including IRB preparation, IND applications, patient scheduling, budget preparation, and maintaining patient accrual data. Respond to inquiries regarding study protocols and refer participants appropriately. Assist in coordinating activities related to imaging, including archival and communication with Nuclear Technologists and Information Systems Managers.Complete study Case Report Forms, image reports, and maintain records. Be available during monitoring visits to review documents and respond to sponsor requests, ensuring adherence to GCP and HIPAA guidelines. Market and educate residents and fellows about ongoing trials, disseminate materials, and communicate with nurses, physicians, and primary care physicians.Understand Radiology and Hospital Information Systems to track study completion and reporting. Collaborate with clinical teams for patient recruitment, and work with Research Administration and IRB to coordinate regulatory activities. Develop and implement patient recruitment strategies in collaboration with the research team.Maintain safety standards related to ionizing radiation and stay current with training on hazards and safety protocols. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Science required. 0-1 year of relevant coursework or experience preferred, especially for new graduates. Good interpersonal and communication skills.Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Computer literacy, including experience with database tools.
