The Opportunity: The Kidz First Child Development Team (CDT) seeks an enthusiastic, motivated, and confident Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with babies aged 0-3 years to support feeding and communication, and a desire to make a community impact.The speech language therapist will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children with disabilities in the community. Based at Kidz First Community Health in Manukau, South Auckland, you will be supported by experienced professionals including Speech Language Therapists, a Professional Leader, Clinical Leader, and Team Leader. Our team values a fun, goal-oriented environment and predominantly serves Māori and Pacific populations, encouraging applicants from these communities.Your role involves partnering with patients, whaanau, and healthcare providers to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care outcomes for children primarily aged 0-3 years. You will support children with feeding, swallowing, and communication challenges in community settings, conducting assessments, diagnoses, and treatments. Opportunities include upskilling in Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies and participating in flexible service delivery models such as face-to-face sessions, telehealth, and groups. Additionally, you will collaborate with Paediatricians and Psychologists in multidisciplinary clinics to assess complex cases, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, or Global Developmental Delay.We seek a candidate who is an excellent communicator, respects cultural diversity, and can effectively organize and prioritize caseloads for success in this role.
