Full-Time Permanent Vacancy We have a full-time, permanent position available with a competitive salary ranging from $81,206.00 to $97,557.00, depending on experience. The role is based at our Hastings site in the East Coast region. Our goal is to support Tamariki, Rangatahi, and Whānau to achieve the best outcomes.About the Role You will join our Care and Protection Team, which operates differently from typical structures. Unlike the usual practice of assigning different social workers for assessments, FGC referrals, and care requirements, at Hastings, one social worker manages the case through all stages. This approach ensures accountability, reduces the need for whānau to repeat their stories, and improves service quality through consistency and credibility.What You Will Bring Full or Provisional registration with the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) or eligibility to register; a current practising certificate is required. A recognised social worker qualification by the SWRB. A full, clean driver’s licence. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Resilience, problem-solving skills, and flexibility. Strong time management and organisational skills. Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent report writing skills. Understanding of cross-cultural practices, including knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ cultures.Experience in both the public and social/community sectors, with knowledge of government systems in an Aotearoa context is desirable.
