We are looking to build our team in our Air New Zealand Lounge at Auckland Airport , and are seeking enthusiastic Chefs to work on a Casual Basis . Hours of work are on an "as and when required" basis.Our Chefs are at the very heart of what we do. Hundreds of thousands of people around New Zealand rely on us every day to provide their breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Responsibilities: The Buffet Chef is present for opening and closing of the buffet, available for guest assistance, and maintains food quality and safety throughout service.Check food quality prior to leaving the kitchen and while on the buffet, ensuring culinary specifications and standards are met. Provide a warm, friendly, and welcoming style of service to all customers. Focus on Mana-aki-tanga: Hospitality, kindness, and support. Work effectively in a team. Be able to lift up to 20kg.Provide outstanding service, developing opportunities to retain and win business. Support our people to achieve their potential and deliver results for the business. Demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude to change. Previous experience in a catering environment. Hold a NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167&168).
