Land&Sea is New Zealand’s fastest-growing fishing&outdoor retail and e-commercebusiness. We are seeking a motivated and technically focused Fishing Category Managerto join our team. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring our customers receive amarket-leading experience with the Land&Sea fishing business both in-store&online. Inaddition to providing industry-leading service, you will lead many touchpoints associatedwith the fishing category from both a marketing&sales standpoint.Our expanding team and fast-growing business offer an exciting opportunity to be a partof a pioneering environment where your efforts will directly impact our success. If you’reready to make a difference and thrive in a fast-paced setting, we’d love to hear from you! Lead the Land&Sea fishing category from all aspects, including but not limited toSales&Operations. Ensure you remain an expert within the technical fishing space&undertake any upskilling when necessary. Lead all aspects of the customer experience attributed to the Land&Sea FishingCategory, both in-store and across all communication channels such as email&phone sales. Oversee strategic long-term and short-term goals for the fishing category whileevaluating outcomes. Report on category tracking monthly to seniormanagement&key stakeholders. Develop, implement&update the company training module for the Fishingcategory, including the onboarding&ongoing training of all sales staff. Lead all aspects of expert rigging within the fishing department. Ensure thetraining of key sales staff on spooling, rigging, knot tying&any other specialisedskills Act as the face of the Land&Sea Fishing Category both on&off the shop floor. Lead all inventory touchpoints within the fishing category, including restocking,stocktaking, merchandising&seasonal planning Manage&exceed sales targets accross the Land&Sea fishing category. Collaborate with teammates on all sales touchpoints of the business and upholdexceptional sales practices across all categories of the business Required Skills: Market-leading industry knowledge of fishing, including styles, seasonality and themodern methods of fishing Unquestioned passion for all things fishing&the technicalities of the sport Rigging&knot tying skills Strong Leadership skills&the ability to lead from the front Ability to manage a high-energy team within a fast-paced working environment A natural love for sales&the sales process High-level communication skills with customers, internal team members&suppliers Ability to work within a high-performing team but maintain autonomy within thatteam An ability to make high-level decisions whilst under pressure A desire to make an impact and drive results High level of professionalism Bonus Skills: Experience working within the Fishing&Outdoor retail market Understanding of e-commerce and it’s supporting functions Experience with ERP, POS&Freight systems Passion for the outdoors Why Land&Sea: Our culture comes first.
