Contract Manager, Auckland

This capability includes the construction of sub-divisions, roads and bridges, storm water drainage, pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as piling, wharf construction, precast concrete elements and landscaping.Heb have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager to join our Region's Senior Leadership Team and lead our Liveable Streets Road Maintenance Contract team in Auckland. Liveable Streets is a joint venture between Higgins and HEB Construction to deliver the South Rural Road Corridor Maintenance Contract for Auckland Transport. The team is well established and performing well, in year 3 of a 10-year contract. They are responsible for sealed and unsealed road maintenance, emergency management, customer and stakeholder management, and a large programme of surfacing renewals and rehabilitation works.This role involves leading a large team to successfully deliver all network maintenance and renewals, managing all aspects of commercial and financial performance, variation pricing, client liaison, and work programming. You will be the key contact to ensure the existing collaborative long-term working relationships are maintained with the client, suppliers, and other stakeholders, including the community.What you'll bring to the role: Extensive proven experience in New Zealand road maintenance contracts. Understanding of the technical, contractual, and financial requirements involved in a roading maintenance contract. Proven leadership capability with the ability to make strategic decisions, using strong commercial acumen to deliver consistent business performance.A strong client focus, with the ability to build long-term relationships. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, along with knowledge of CRM systems. Working understanding and ability to use RAMM, RAMM Contractor, and Pocket RAMM. Adaptability, flexibility, and success in a dynamic environment.Commitment to the highest standards of health and safety. Preferably, tertiary qualifications such as BEng, NZCE (Civil), or a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent. Experience: Greater than 10 years of experience in road maintenance, civil engineering, and project management.
