About the role As a BAS Senior 1 Accountant, you will work with clients to plan for sustainable business growth by identifying their business issues, creating a plan, and making it happen. You will handle a variety of tasks, including external reporting, management accounting, and tax preparation, while providing expert advice and developing strong client relationships.Our team provides personalised services to clients based on their unique needs and to meet the challenges at every stage of their life cycle. To excel, you will need to not only understand financial concepts but also be a great communicator, able to work independently and as part of our team. This role is based in our Auckland CBD office, 8.30am– 5.00pm, 37.5hrs per week, Monday – Friday. The salary range for this role is between $70,000 - $80,000 plus benefits and relocation allowance.Key Responsibilities Apply relevant standards and pronouncements appropriately Assist and explain financial concepts to graduate staff Determine external reporting policies and expectations of clients Review client reports and identify issues for discussion with clients Prepare complex financial statements with minimal review pointsParticipate in managing the external reporting function Draft statements with minimal review points Liaise with clients and prepare detailed management reports and/or letters Stay updated on changes to tax legislation and legal decisions Identify tax planning and restructuring opportunities and discuss with supervisorPrepare and file returns in accordance with legal requirements Research and complete complex calculations such as holiday pay Identify issues, research, and provide recommendations to supervisor Identify trust planning opportunities and discuss with supervisor 08th May, 2025 BDO - IDEAS | PEOPLE | TRUSTA unique combination of relationships, resources, and responsiveness.
