To find out more about our commitment to sustainability and about Amcor, visit Description Role Overview The Technical writer will join the engineering team to produce high quality engineering documentation that contributes to the overall success of our machinery. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with design engineers, production staff and service technicians to create manuals which assist all parties that interact with our machinery, both internal and external.What You Get To Do Geographic Scope: NZ based, global install base of equipment (predominately US) Number of colleagues directly reporting to this job: none Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities Produce high-quality technical documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audienceProvides information and writes procedures to create customer facing equipment manuals Manages equipment version control to track iterative changes. Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storageAssist with documentation needed for certification Using computer aided design (CAD) software to assist in document creation Percentage Breakdown Of Role’s Responsibilities Technical documentation: 80% CAD drawings for manuals: 15% Miscellaneous: 5% What We Value Customer Focus Planning&Organizing Collaboration&Influencing Compelling Communication Results Orientation Continuous Improvement Mindset Developing Organization Capability What We Want From You Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant Engineering specialization) Experience in engineering including two or more years of experience as an effective technical writerExperience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excellent written skills in English Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail Deep understanding of Engineering standards and processes Experience in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD programProven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter Attention to detail, thoroughness and pride in work Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures Ability to work collaboratively and productively in team environmentsAbility to maintain an optimistic attitude to help promote a constructive environment Ability to foster strong relationships with all stakeholders Regular attendance. Frequent interaction with others. Ability to sit up to 90% of time. Ability to communicate up to 80% of time. Ability to work on a computer 90% of time.Office / factory environment.
