He angitūtanga: The opportunity Casual Team Member - Lifeguard | Papatoetoe Centennial Pools Working as a casual team member at our Papatoetoe centre offers you a chance to make a meaningful impact in the community. We are seeking a casual team member primarily to serve as a lifeguard. Lifeguards play acrucial role in maintaining a safe environment for our customers and are vital to the smooth operation of our aquatic facilities. Ideal candidates are observant, patient, and personable, with the confidence to respond quickly, responsibly, and calmly. Responsibilities include:Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive customer interactions Educating and enforcing pool rules Responding to First Aid emergencies Maintaining cleanliness of the pool and surrounding areas Supporting customer service and other operational tasks as needed For a detailed job description, please see: Team MemberWe are currently hiring for this casual position. This role is on-site. Our centre operates from 9:00 am to 6:45 pm on weekends and 5:30 am to 7:30 pm on weekdays. Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends is essential. He kōrero mōu: About you We seek individuals who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others, and able to commit to full-time work. Applicants must be of legal age and capable of passing the swimming test required for lifeguarding, or willing to undertake training to do so.Swim 200m in less than 6 minutes (any stroke or a combination) Swim 50m breaststroke Swim 25m sidestroke Retrieve objects from the deepest part of the pool (depth varies) Maintain treading water for 5 minutes No prior PLPC certification is necessary; we provide all training free of charge and will pay you during training.Note: You must be available for lifeguard training from 30 June to 11 July (weekdays 8:30 am - 4 pm) at West Wave and Auckland CBD.
