The lead adviser provides support and guidance to staff within the region to ensure consistent learning support practices through collaboration with Service Managers and Managers of Integrated Services.The role involves ensuring access to high-quality, ongoing professional development and supervision for all learning support staff, in collaboration with other roles. Qualifications and Experience A relevant tertiary qualification Five or more years of experience in providing specialist learning support services in education or related fieldsStrong knowledge of supporting children and young people with learning support needs Experience leading practice changes at individual and system levels Credibility and strong practice with colleagues and managers An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for Māori development and partnership values within the Ministry of EducationKey Responsibilities Supporting service managers and staff to drive consistent practice across the region Collaborating with Chief Advisers and specialist service leads to plan and coordinate professional support and development Implementing national practice changes, processes, and systems for learning support regionallyApplication Process All applications must be submitted online via the Ministry Careers Portal.
