We are a thriving, community-based, not-for-profit centre seeking an experienced and confident leader to step into the role of manager as our current leader retires. Located on the grounds of a Crown Research Institute, we provide quality early childhood education for employees’ families and the local community. The Centre is divided into areas with each led by a Head Teacher. We follow a Gerber- and Pikler approach. We have an expansive outdoor space and provide children’s meals.About the role: The manager/head teacher will oversee daily operations, lead and mentor a team of Kaiako, and uphold high teaching standards. You will be supported by a parent-led Board and an accountant; you will play a key role in fostering strong relationships with staff and the community. About you: Proven ECE leadership skills with a strong desire to support, develop and coach othersAt least five years’ experience in maintaining a high quality ECE service. A current New Zealand practicing certificate and relevant ECE qualifications Strong understanding of licensing criteria, curriculum, ECE Regulations, ERO and MOE requirements. Commitment to Te Whāriki and to Te Tiriti o WaitangiYou hold yourself to a high professional standard. Especially with communication and relationship building amongst staff, whānau, and the community. Positive attitude with a solution-based approach A confident leader who can provide mentoring and role modelling of exemplary teaching practice.
