Provide support while assessing and reviewing care plans for Permanent Caregivers with tamariki in their care. 01st May, 2025 Social Worker– Permanent Caregiver Support Service Turuki Health Care is a kaupapa Māori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing, and social services across Tāmaki Makaurau. We provide quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare and support to whānau.Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity Our Permanent Caregiver Support Services team is based in our specialised Contact Centre located in Manukau. You will work alongside dedicated Contact Centre Representatives, knowledgeable Case Workers from diverse backgrounds, and SWRB Qualified and Registered Social Workers. We offer one-on-one support from your supervisor, a caring team committed to whānau well-being, and networking opportunities with service providers across Aotearoa. Salaries are based on experience and can match recent pay equity settlements.Caregivers are referred to our service by Oranga Tamariki once they are defined as Permanent Caregivers under the Care of Children’s Act 2004 or Section 113 of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989. Our team plays a crucial role in planning and assessing the support services needed. Supports for tamariki vary and may include specialist medical services, funding for extracurricular activities, and access to special education.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience A qualification in Social Work. Currently registered with the SWRB and working towards a current APC. Proven ability to build rapport with whānau. Commitment to providing a culturally responsive approach to practice. Effective teamwork and communication skills with all stakeholders.Upholding Turuki values by ensuring activities enhance and protect the mana of caregivers and tamariki/rangatahi. Ability to build, maintain, and nurture relationships. Experience in trauma-informed practice is an advantage. Ability to contribute to planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring care plans.Confidence working within a bicultural context and understanding Māori Tikanga. Proficiency in Te Reo Māori or another language is an advantage. Knowledge of the Oranga Tamariki Acts is an advantage.
