FTC - Payroll Officer - People and Communications at Te Whatu Ora, Auckland Fixed Term Contract– Parental Leave Cover till July 2026 Full-time position This position is located in Auckland at the Connect Business Park in Penrose Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team in a shared services environment, supporting multiple different areas with accurate and customer-focused payroll services. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll transactions, reviewing payroll data, and working closely with HR information to ensure everything runs smoothly.The Payroll Officer's role will involve maintaining payroll accuracy, addressing payroll queries, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to provide a seamless payroll experience while identifying opportunities for process improvements.This role is to cover parental leave within the team and is currently required from July 2025 for one year. About the Team/Service/ Location In this role, you'll join a dynamic team reporting directly to the Team Leader based at our Staff Service Centre in Penrose, where a collaborative, forward-thinking mindset drives our success.About you You are a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with proven experience in payroll, committed to meeting key performance indicators. You thrive in both individual and team environments, respond promptly to payroll queries, and excel in communication, customer service and problem-solving. Your approachable nature, hard work, and strong background in similar roles would make you an ideal candidate for this role.At least 2 years of payroll or accounts experience Intermediate/advanced experience with the Microsoft suite, particularly Excel Strong team player Undertaken tertiary or vocational studies Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is‘the weaving of wellness'.
