In our diverse and accepting environment, our people grow their agile mind-set, learn, evolve and utilise their skills, while being empowered to make decisions.About the role: A software specialist (Cobol) is responsible for providing technical support, consultancy, analysis and development to ensure maintenance, refinement and constant improvement to ASB's core suite of high volume transactional banking systems. The ideal candidate for this role will have solid exposure to the following technologies;COBOL-74 or equivalent Unisys ClearPath MCP (or similar mainframe environment) ( desirable ) Agile methods including Scrum Knowledge of BDD and/or TDD About you: We'll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and leadership skills as we look for every engineer to lead from their position. You must be self-driven with the ability to maintain high standards, attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness. You have demonstrable commercial experience in Cobol development and Support within a complex mainframe environment with a positive attitude and the desire to work on a mix of project and support work.
