Description
As a leading company in recruitment, Adecco is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator and Final Inspector to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Final Inspection, Cut-to-length, and Outfeed areas, as well as managing data and inventory control through the JDE and ERP systems. Please note, this role is physically demanding and requires an active candidate who is able to perform tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a physically demanding role. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills and be committed to upholding safety and quality standards while contributing to the overall success of operations. Key Responsibilities: Final Product Inspection: Inspect and approve finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.Machine Operation: Operate cut-to-length machines, outfeed tables, and related equipment effectively. Inventory Management: Handle inventory control and maintain data in the ERP systems. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks, including side-to-side checks, carpet width checks, and fault identification.Training&Development: Provide training and technical expertise to other staff members in Final Inspection procedures. Fault Detection: Identify potential manufacturing issues and manage quarantines or product recalls if necessary. Roll Creation: Utilise JDE and ERP to create rolls and interpret cutting instructions.Health and Safety: Ensure safe operation of equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and report any incidents or near-misses. Other Duties: Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, work independently, and be flexible to assist in other departments as required. Skills and Experience Required: Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator in an industrial manufacturing environment, or in a similar role such as Final Inspection or machine operation in a production setting.Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of carpet products, including tuft lock and delamination procedures. ERP Knowledge: Competence in using JDE, ERP, and SAP systems. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to teach and share knowledge with others.Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship. Self-Management: Ability to work without supervision and maintain excellent time management. Physical Fitness: This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, move, and work with heavy materials.Health and Safety: Safe operation of machinery and equipment. Maintain high standards of workplace housekeeping. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Actively participate in health and safety programmes, training, and audits.
