The Position The Field Technician - Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the setup, operation, calibration, and signal standards of the Outside Broadcast (“OB”) Unit or Studio control room and related equipment, working within our Engineering team at Mt Wellington, Auckland, with travel around New Zealand as needed.Key Responsibilities Coordinate with the Technical Manager to understand project scope, equipment, and production schedules. Assist with equipment readiness and system calibration for assigned projects. Monitor program signals during production, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly.Maintain broadcast equipment through preventative and repair measures. Ensure safety standards for electrical and mechanical equipment are met. Work shifts and travel as required. Required Skills and Attributes Proficiency in interfacing external equipment with trucks. Understanding of transmission signals, remote cameras, RF links, and communication systems.Fault-finding skills for equipment failures. Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and networking. Strong client relationship management skills.
