Dental Assistant at NZ Defence Force, Auckland Mō te tūnga | About the role Defence Dental Services provide essential clinical services as part of holistic health services in the NZDF. This includes proactive preventive oral health services focused on restoring tooth form and function, managing conditions affecting supporting tissues, and preventing future oral health issues.Our dental assistants primarily provide chairside assistance to Dentists, prepare and clean treatment rooms, handle sterilisation, and assist throughout the clinic and front office as needed. You will deliver patient-focused service to military personnel and be an active team player. Our clinics operate only during daytime hours, so no late nights or weekend work!Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar dental clinic role, with about 2 years' experience as a chairside assistant and knowledge of sterilisation practices.
