We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join the driven marketing and Business Development (MBD) team to provide strategic and operational support aligned with our strategic priorities for New Zealand.Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic BD advisory services to practice groups and sectors, including developing and executing annual MBD plans. Lead the client program in conjunction with the Head of MBD and support from the MBD team. Champion the Client Care program to embed client service best practices.Support the local sector program for identified focus sectors. Lead pitches and capability statements, including identifying opportunities for proactive pitches. Drive the local DLA Piper WIN program to strengthen relationships with in-house contacts. Lead the delivery of the bespoke MBD Learning&Development program. Manage regular MBD reporting. Support legal directory submissions. Lead national, practice group, and sector key sponsorships and partnerships. About the Team: The MBD team underpins the firm’s success through delivering a wide range of client-focused activity to a high standard. The team are well respected by the partnership and sought out for their expertise. Being part of an international firm, the MBD team regularly share knowledge and draw on the expertise of colleagues in otherregions.About You: To be considered for this opportunity you will have proven experience in leading, planning, and delivering strategic Business Development programs with successful outcomes. Experience in using data and analytics to report on effectiveness. Further, you will develop strong relationships with industry experts and service providers. Ideally you will haveexperience in a professional services environment, where you have been managing projects and leading and partnering with others.Attributes: Strategic and tactical business development experience. Strong project planning and management skills. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills. Exceptional business writing and communication skills. Knowledge of the legal or professional services industry. Client service orientation and internal customer relationship management.Ability to multi-task, self-manage, and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to support other team members to balance capacity.Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, or equivalent.
