We believe you really can love what you do!The Opportunity We’re seeking a thoughtful, well-rounded Senior Product Designer to lead the design of intuitive, impactful experiences that drive the success of our customers. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future vision of Hectre’s products, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to solve meaningful challenges in the fresh produce industry. You’ll also serve as a design advocate, embedding user-centered design across our product strategy and fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation.What You’ll Do Lead Design Initiatives: Own the end-to-end design process within your domain—discovery, ideation, prototyping, validation, delivery—ensuring a seamless and effective user experience across platforms. Champion Product Discovery: Shape and lead robust discovery practices with a focus on rapid iteration, problem framing, hypothesis testing, and customer validation.Utilise AI Tools: Leverage AI-powered tools for rapid prototyping, generating design variations, testing ideas, and analyzing user behavior patterns. Use AI to accelerate workflows and elevate creativity. Build Relationships with Users: Develop deep empathy for our users (growers, packhouse staff, managers), conducting field visits and ongoing conversations to gain contextual insights and continuously refine product direction.Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with PMs, engineers, data analysts, and field teams to co-create valuable solutions. Champion the voice of the user while balancing technical and business constraints. Contribute to and Evolve Design Systems: Help maintain and grow our design system to ensure scalability, efficiency, and visual consistency across mobile and desktop experiences.Champion Design Culture: Support and collaborate with other designers, encourage shared learning, and advocate for design best practices. Act as a design ambassador across the wider organisation by leading workshops, demos, and storytelling sessions. Measure Design Impact: Establish success metrics, track outcomes, and evaluate the effectiveness of your design solutions in terms of user satisfaction, adoption, and business impact.Communicate Clearly: Present ideas and solutions confidently to stakeholders, providing clear rationales informed by research, data, and product strategy. What We’re Looking For Experience: 6+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing your process, outcomes, and storytelling ability.Mobile&Web Fluency: Deep experience designing for native mobile (iOS/Android) and responsive web platforms. Experience working in or alongside Flutter-based applications is a plus. AI Integration: Working knowledge or strong interest in integrating AI into design workflows for ideation, prototyping, or research.Discovery Leadership: Proven ability to lead user research and discovery efforts, turning insights into clear product opportunities. Design Systems: Comfort with design systems and components; experience contributing to scalable systems. Collaboration: Ability to work closely and effectively with cross-functional teammates. You’re a connector, not a silo.Adaptability: Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. You enjoy figuring things out and iterating as you go. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication, especially when explaining design decisions and user insights. Empathy: Deep care for users and their environment.
