The Head of Intermediated Distribution is a key leadership role within the Sales and Marketing function. This role manages intermediated distribution partnerships, primarily Retail Travel Agencies&Brokers, for Allianz Partners New Zealand. Reporting to the Sales Director, the role aims to meet and exceed sales targets, retain clients, generate new referrals, improve profits, promote cross-sell and up-sell, and drive growth initiatives beyond organic growth for all partners. What you will be doing:Lead a team of Key Account Managers, Account Managers, and Sales Support staff, fostering a productive, sales-driven environment aligned with Allianz People Attributes. Enhance staff engagement and retention, empower your team, and deliver exceptional partner experiences while achieving revenue and profit targets.Maintain discipline and focus in sales activities, ensure the sales pipeline is maximized, and promote sustainable, compliant sales practices. Your responsibilities: Manage and monitor travel sales budgets for each Key Account Manager. Develop competitive pricing structures with clients and the team.Handle full budgeting responsibilities, including setting, reporting, and developing sales targets. Forecast sales YTD and analyze future performance against budgets. Identify opportunities for improvement, analyze root causes of issues, and implement solutions. Make courageous decisions, address tough issues, and seek efficiency improvements.Build a collaborative culture that celebrates success and develops a high-performing sales team exceeding targets. Ensure staff development aligns with operational and HR strategies. Develop a sustainable sales and growth strategy to meet revenue, profit, and strategic goals. Maximize revenue and operating profit per client and oversee client planning processes.Identify and onboard new partnerships, aiming to grow market share through strategic product and service development. Understand market fundamentals and key profit and cost drivers. Collaborate with stakeholders on strategies, campaigns, and new product or service initiatives. Support the implementation of Allianz Partners’ simplification and standardization strategies.Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and internal policies. Identify, communicate, and escalate risks and compliance issues, including fraud and corruption. Complete risk management reviews and integrate best practices. What you will bring: Proven leadership experience managing high-performing sales teams in financial services or insurance sectors.Strong background in sales or account/relationship management within a large commercial environment, with a record of meeting or exceeding KPIs and revenue targets. Experience in developing client relationships from initial contact through onboarding and ongoing management, including expanding revenue streams.Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions. Exceptional presentation skills. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tough deadlines. Experience with managing projects and tenders is highly regarded.
