Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Nutrition and Physical Activity Te Kura Hākinakina/School of Sport and Recreation is recruiting an enthusiastic and accomplished Pūkenga/Pūkenga Matua - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in nutrition and physical activity. We teach across all AUT campuses and at AUT Millennium - our world-class sports training and research facility.In this role, you'll have the chance to: Lead and innovate course delivery, curriculum development and supervision in nutrition and physical activity across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Develop impactful research that aligns with our industry partnerships and enhances the knowledge base in nutrition and physical activity.Engage meaningfully with students, fostering kotahitanga (unity), a student-centred learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth. Actively integrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into teaching and research, embracing Te Aronui, AUT's Te Tiriti Framework to create culturally safe and inclusive spaces. This includes embedding Mātauranga Māori and tikanga Māori into curricula and research, fostering meaningful relationships with Māori communities, and championing Kaupapa Māori methodologies. Through this, you will contribute to systemic change, equity, and transformative education aligned with AUT's values of tika, pono, and aroha as reflected in Te Aronui (AUT's Te Tiriti framework).Hold a doctoral qualification in nutrition, physical activity, health promotion, public health or a related field, and have an active research profile. Are skilled at delivering high-quality, relevant education that addresses the needs of students, industry, and professional groups. Demonstrate a high level of cultural intelligence and a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Exhibit a strong understanding of, or a genuine willingness to learn and integrate, te reo Māori me ona tikanga, and kaupapa Māori practices into their professional work.Possess strong communication skills, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and are confident with IT, teaching platforms and organisational tools.
