Our mission is to make sure we enhance the fulfilment and the enjoyment for our residents every single day.In late 2024 we opened new spaces at our Epsom site with 280 beds now available for Residents.As we look to the future, we are seeking applicants for a newly created position– Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Lead (0.6 FTE) . About the role As our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead you will keep us focused on the essentials – the frameworks, the monitoring, reporting, and the training necessary to ensure our Residents and teams live and work safely in our complex, clinical environment. Embedding a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement will be key to your success.This is also an opportunity to step beyond Health&Safety, to work closely with our People&Culture Business Partner on meaningful wellbeing strategies for our teams. By fostering a proactive and responsive safety culture, you will play an integral role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and engaging environment for our Resident and their families, employees, and visitors. Key responsibilitiesHealth, Safety and Wellbeing Leadership Leads the development of Knox’s Health, Safety&Wellbeing framework, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and integration across all operations. Health, Safety and Wellbeing Planning and Governance Maintains a strong HSW governance framework, tracks key metrics, and uses data insights to drive continuous improvement and ensure legal compliance.Risk Management and Compliance Ensures HSW policies align with current legislation, manages workplace risks, champions safe practices in aged care, and oversees audits, inspections, and permit-to-work procedures. Leads incident investigations and critical incident management, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning, while ensuring staff readiness through regular training and emergency drills.Collaborating with the P&C Business Partner, this role integrates wellbeing initiatives into key HR strategies and designs holistic programs that support mental health, stress management, and work-life balance. It also partners with external providers to enhance offerings and continuously monitors effectiveness through data and feedback.Capability Development Design and deliver targeted HSW training, build a network of HSW champions, and lead emergency preparedness through drills and scenario planning, addressing any identified training gaps. Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Equity and Inclusion Considers and supports activities that promote cultural competency, inclusivity, and culturally safe practices to the team.About you 5 years' experience in occupational Health&Safety Strong knowledge of safety regulations, incident management and investigations Ideally qualification in ergonomics and / or manual handling as well as Permit to Work accreditation After hours availability for critical incident management.
