The Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified“Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges, alcohol and drug dependency.We are currently seeking two Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinicians to join our residential team based in Managere East, next to Middlemore Hospital. The two available roles are rostered to work the following hours: Role 1 Tuesday 1pm to 9pm Wednesday 1pm to 9pm Thursday 9am to 5pm Friday 7am to 3pmSaturday 7am to 3pm Role 2 Sunday 7am to 3pm Monday 1pm to 9pm Tuesday 1pm to 9pm Wednesday 7am to 3pm Thursday 9am to 5pm Our ideal candidates will have: Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health settingRelevant Level 7 qualification e.g. in health science, social work, counselling or mental health An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural normsSome skills in group and individual therapy Great communication and relationship management skills A full, clean NZ drivers license In return we offer: A salary between $67,225 and $77,272 depending on skills and experience An annual allowance of $2500 for working rostered evening and weekend shifts, 22 days annual leave and 5 days study leave per yearPaid professional fees and varied professional development and training opportunities Paid meal breaks and free meals/ fruit A committed and supportive team who are passionate about the mahi More about us: Odyssey has supported thousands of New Zealanders whose lives are affected by alcohol, drug or other addiction challenges.
