The incumbent will lead a team of accountants owning the month-end close. You will enjoy implementing new processes or ways of working that create efficiencies and will have a great eye for detail. Reporting to the Head of Group Accounting, you will build strong relationships throughout the business and become a trusted advisor.What you'll do Manage and develop a team of accountants that run the month-end close process. Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement through implementation of systems, policies, and procedures, particularly related to Xero’s month-end close and financial reporting. Analyse financial performance and results, supporting your team to deliver accurate financial information.Serve as a key conduit between the financial accounting team and the wider finance team, supporting FP&A and Tax teams to ensure they have the necessary data to deliver insights. Ensure financial information conforms to high standards and is produced within tight timeframes. Provide advice on the technical and financial implications of business decisions. Work closely with accounts payable, billing, and treasury teams to ensure inputs into the month-end close are accurate and efficiently managed. Collaborate on projects to incorporate changes into the process.Participate in significant corporate or company-wide finance projects as directed by senior management. What you'll bring with you 7+ years of experience in finance roles, either in a large corporate or Big 4 accounting firm. Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and processes.Appropriate qualification, such as CA or equivalent. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables. Strong planning, organizational, and self-management skills. A collaborative team player contributing to a high-performing team.Exceptional communication and presentation skills in various settings. Why Xero?
