Responsibilities Role and Responsibilities: Working alongside our Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll provide high-level nursing care to inmates/detainees, ensuring a safe and secure environment.Provide nursing care within your scope and refer medical issues to physicians as needed. Perform comprehensive physical assessments and document medical histories. Evaluate patients' symptoms and progress, reporting issues to physicians and management. Administer medications securely, preventing drug hoarding and trafficking.Ensure prescribed medications are given as instructed. Educate patients on chronic illnesses, post-hospitalization, and post-surgical care. Supervise LPN staff workflow and contribute to performance evaluations. Document all detainee/inmate contacts and maintain confidentiality of medical records.Adhere to industry and company accreditation policies. Qualifications Competencies Required: We seek candidates with excellent diagnostic skills, patience, and empathy. Our team takes pride in aiding patients' reintegration into society. If you meet the following minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply:Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program; current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment. Maintain a current license on file. Preferably two (2) years of direct nursing experience. Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical and psychiatric assessments, and nursing care.Ability to work independently, perform nursing diagnoses, and follow through with appropriate treatments. Physical Requirements Frequently : Lift/carry and push/pull up to 40 lbs.; walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level.
