You will focus on working with staff to best meet the needs of patients and their whānau accessing our services. You will also assist our teams to ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming and safe environment.This role is rostered and involves rotating shifts Monday to Sunday. The working hours are 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE). There is no on-call required. About the Team/Service/Location Our team of 3 help and assist to provide an environment that is calm and welcoming. For more information on living and working in Wairau, click here.About You As a Patient Support Security Worker within the Wairau Campus, you will display a rational and calm manner and have the skills to effectively de-escalate difficult situations whilst promoting a safe and therapeutic environment. You will be able to relate well to patients and their visitors as well as work with the clinical team and follow directions.Previous experience in security, or a related industry is preferred. However, this is not essential as training will be provided. Additionally, you will have: Empathy and a non-judgemental attitude towards patients and members of the public The ability to relate with ease to people from a variety of different cultures and backgroundsThe ability to recognize and pass on issues that may affect patient welfare A good level of physical fitness and mobility Eligibility to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
